I am either a boots, skirt and blouse kind of girl, or a jeans and t-shirt/sweater gal. I love the brand Seventy mochi a lot, unfortunately the taxes are high when ordering.
The two things I’d be truly lost without are my rings and black leather jacket. Love the Zara jackets, and I’ve bought mine when I was in Spain.
I’m a really bad cook, especially now with my young kids, I just can’t force myself making a good meal. So, ‘unfortunately’, we order a lot of fresh cooked meals (Marleen kookt) and we just now embrace this period of time and hopefully when the girls are a bit older, I do find myself with a bit more patience to create a great meal myself.
I love having a coffee by myself, especially at dawn in a cute coffee place. But now with kids, my coffee-by-myself-momentum is at 9 am, after our rush hour, whilst watching other people going on with their lives.
I love listening to business podcasts, as I can’t keep my focus whilst reading books on this topic. But listening to designers, artists, people who ‘made it’ in the design world, inspires me a lot.
I love buying art, and especially I love buying art spontaneously. Still have some pieces laying around the house, for which I haven’t found the right spot yet. My most recent purchases were from Cate Adriana and one piece bought through the OODE gallery. Also online auctions are a true addiction, once on it.. I can not, not buy anything.
When I was young all my Holidays were spent on a boat, and I still feel the urge to be nearby the sea.
Wherever I am, I always try to thrift. Whether it’s in an antique shop or a real junk store. Especially in the UK I found some true gems in The Cotswolds, but also nearby in Naarden, de Kringloper is my all time favorite.
I live in the same pieces of jewelry every day, especially my rings are sacred to me. Some of these pieces are passed down by my mother and some are given to me on special occasions.
I will always be inspired by the English and Swedish countryside homes. Their use of fabrics, mixed prints, cozy settings, I just feel that we can use some of that here in the Netherlands as well.
